During the current situation, Tarot and Astrology courses (normally two day workshops held in Berkhamsted) are done remotely using Zoom.

Online courses can be one-to-one or in groups. Parts one and two of the courses as shown below are split into separate sessions with comfort breaks between each session.

Regular workshops will be resumed once free movement is allowed, as will the offer for you to host a workshop in your own home.

All the above, including online courses, can be broken down into smaller units such as evening classes on request.

Introduction courses for each subject are half days. These too can be held on Zoom. When held in Berkhamsted, an Introduction session to Tarot and a separate one in Astrology are held on the same day.

Discounts are given for students attending both Introduction sessions on the same day and also towards attendance at one of the workshops.

BEGINNERS COURSE OVERVIEW

Forget magazine and newspaper horoscopes. Learn about yourself and others; gain insight in understanding relationships and friendships.

This course aims to show you how Astrology REALLY works - using your birth chart*. (When you book a course you're asked to provide birth details, either your own or someone whose chart you want to work with.)

* Unknown birth times found with a pendulum. Please discuss when booking.

Part One: Get to know the 12 zodiac signs, recognise the structure of chart wheels, find out about the planets and their affects and get familiar with your chosen chart.

Part Two: Games and exercises make learning fun and help you with interpretation. If time permits, an introduction to relationship Astrology and future forecasting will be included.

THE COURSE IN MORE DEPTH

The first thing you’ll cover will be familiarisation with each of the 12 Zodiac signs. Descriptions will be given by comparison to things with which you are familiar.

Each of the planets in the sky is responsible for a different characteristic so you'll learn how each one works.

You’ll be shown the structure of an Astrology chart wheel and find out about important points in a chart known as Angles.

Then, working with charts created from birth details supplied before the course, you’ll learn the significance of planetary positions in chart wheels and the relationships of planets not only to each other but also to the Angles of the chart.

By the end of the second part of the course you'll have covered the basics of chart interpretation and will feel more confident in your understanding of how this fascinating science works.

NB This course only includes interpretation. All charts are computer generated but you will be given a brief overview of what is involved in calculating a chart. Separate courses are available if you wish to learn how to manually calculate charts.

BEGINNERS COURSE OVERVIEW

To help you identify each card in the future, you’ll be encouraged to discuss its imagery. This will give you a ‘feeling’ about each one’s energy and meaning. You’ll be shown different spreads (layouts) and by the end of both days you will have both given and received several readings.

Two different booklets are available for you to buy. Both list all the cards in the Tarot deck together with its Keyword/s. The different booklets are:

> A5 size with lined space under each card for you to add your own notes.

> A6 size, small enough to carry easily, which shows an image of each card.

Various sizes of decks of Ryder Waite cards are also available for students to buy at the reduced bulk-purchase rate at which they were bought.

THE COURSE IN MORE DEPTH

Part One: You will be shown each of the 22 cards of the Major Arcana of the Tarot deck and given keywords together with an explanation of the image on the card. You and others in the group can comment on, and discusss, both the cards and keywords. When you and the others are happy with all the cards, you'll have a demonstration of the first layout (spread). You and the others in the group will all then both give and receive one or more readings using just the Major Arcana cards.

Part Two: The remaining 56 cards of the deck, known as the Minor Arcana, will be covered in the same way as Day One. Now the new spreads you learn will use the entire Tarot deck and in the afternoon you'll learn at least one new one, more if there's time.

SESSIONS OVERVIEW

These half-day sessions will help you to get to know mare about Tarot and/or Astrology.

Online Zoom Introductions are held during afternoons. When Face-to-face Tarot and Astrology Introduction sessions are available, these are usually held on the same day, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. a discounted rate is available for booking both subjects in the same day.

During each session you'll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions. You'll learn how Tarot works and/or what goes into an Astrology chart and interpretation.

When you attend an Introduction session, you qualify for an extra discount for a full Tarot or Astrology course.

THE SESSIONS IN MORE DEPTH

Tarot: You’ll be introduced to the structure of the Tarot deck. Personal examples will be used to show you how effective readings can be. You will get a FREE Teeny Tiny Taster (one card) and optionally have a full Taster reading of 9 cards.

Astrology: What's the difference between real Astrology and newspaper horoscopes? Ever wondered how similar you, your family or friends are to your Star sign? These questions will be answered and the characteristics of each of the 12 Zodiac signs will be described. If you've provided your birth details* when you booked your place, a chart will be drawn up for you. These are used to show not only what charts look like, but also to explain how they work. Prepared charts are also used as an introduction to interpretation for Astrology workshops.
